OUR MISSION

The Hanok Review is a literary magazine dedicated to uplifting Korean voices. At its core, the magazine strives to promote Korean culture through literature and bridge language barriers between Korean writers and English-speaking audiences through translation.

ABOUT THE NAME

The term hanok (한옥) refers to traditional Korean houses. We felt this term suited our purpose in "housing" poems by Korean writers or those that pertain to Korea. As hanoks are composed of interlocked wooden blocks that form a self-supporting structure, we expect our contributors to submit work that can stand powerfully on its own.
